Our oceans are troubled by abandoned fishing nets - discarded nets keep sea animals from moving freely, cause injuries, trap them and prevent sea life from rising to the surface - in the process adding thousands of tonnes of plastic to the marine environment each year. Using recycled nylon in new fashion garments reduces the need for virgin nylon, which requires the extraction of non-renewable resources and energy-intensive manufacturing processes.

Recycling nylon also reduces waste, conserves resources, and decreases the amount of nylon that ends up in landfills or oceans. Recycling nylon also extends the life cycle of the material and reduces the need for new resources. Nylon is an important component of the textile, as it supports the garment in keeping it's shape.
